NONPROFIT HIGHLIGHT

As a part of our mission to support other maritime organizations in our community a portion of profits from this event will be going to the nonprofit organization SEASTR. Learn more about them below.

SEASTR is a non-profit with a mission to optimize the human/environment connection, using water to engage the underrepresented in their own process of healing and evolution, making a difference for themselves, their families, and their communities. The connection between access to the water and the potential livelihood associated with it has not been made as available as it should be.  Whether a woman is looking to obtain a Washington State Boaters Card or a United States Coast Guard License, SEASTR can help guide women in the right direction and help them make the connection needed to further their endeavors. While access to the maritime community is a multi-faceted conversation, their low-cost programming aims to help alleviate the financial factor, break down the barrier of affluence, and encourage equal access. SEASTR offers programs for women ranging from maritime access and education; surfing, standup paddle boarding, and sailing experiences; to youth paddle camps; to water knowledge like tide and currents, environmental awareness; and low-impact race coaching.
