Non-Profit Highlight of the Month
Salmon for Soldiers is a registered non-profit charity, established in 2013, whose mission is “to offer a sense of normalcy and relaxation to our nation's Veterans through fishing.” The simple act of fishing allows them to relax, enter into new relationships and to learn how fishing can benefit them for a day or a lifetime. Salmon for Soldiers events are designed to accommodate veterans with paralysis, PTSD, TBI and other debilitating challenges. Each year over 400 veterans are given the opportunity to fish with local guides and volunteer boaters through Salmon for Soldiers.
Salmon for Soldier’s is a fully volunteer organization. All donations are used to send our nation’s veterans and active-duty military members fishing. Studies indicate that taking part in outdoor activities, like fishing, is healing and restorative for our veterans and their families. Salmon for Soldiers has taken 1226 veterans fishing over the past 3 years thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
