Sound Experience is a Washington State-based nonprofit youth education organization that serves young people with on-the-water maritime and environmental education throughout the Puget Sound region. Founded in 1989, the organization has delivered day and overnight programs to more than 30,000 youth aboard its fully-restored National Historic Landmark sailing ship, Adventuress. Partnering with schools and community-based organizations that reach young people from families furthest from opportunity, Sound Experience is an integral part of growing effort to increase access to maritime education and career pathways, and to foster stewardship of the Salish Sea.
