USL&H and the Washington Assigned Risk Pool: What Every Marine Employer Needs to Know About Longshore Coverage

The Washington USL&H Assigned Risk Pool (WARP) will make a 20 minute presentation, followed by a panel discussion/Q&A on the United States Longshore and Harborworkers Compensation Act. 

Topics covered will include the History of the Act, and its relation to other, similar laws, such as State Workers Compensation, and Maritime Employment Law. WARP will cover oversight and administration of USL&H, and common issues and challenges for employers dealing with the law.  They will touch on WARP’s role in Washington State, and when USL&H does, and doesn’t apply to a business. The concepts of Situs and Status, and  Exclusions from the Law, including how it applies to recreational vessels, will be discussed. 

At the end of their presentation you will have to opportunity to ask a panel questions about the Law and what is important for you to know.
